After escaping excruciating conditions, this lion, tiger, and bear cub made a life together at an animal sanctuary.
His unconditional love is inspiring.
Sometimes we get to choose our families. The same is true for animals, and often the species doesn’t matter much.
When Baloo, Shere Khan and Leo were rescued from dire conditions in the early 2000s, they were inseparable.
All three were rescued as puppies from the same place. They were kidnapped in a basement in Atlanta, malnourished and even injured. Fortunately, Noah’s Ark Animal Sanctuary came to the rescue and took them in.
From then on, the three of them were thick and thieves. These brothers hugged, ate and played together, creating a trio like never before. The Noah’s Ark Animal Sanctuary named them BLTs, and they were well-loved in the area.
Leo was an African son. He was older than his brothers, but still young enough to form a bond after escaping from him. Shere Khan, a beautiful Bengal tiger, quickly disappeared after eye malnutrition. Baloo the black bear is unfortunately the last of the BLT.
Together, they had many amazing moments together, entertaining visitors to the animal sanctuary and living a quiet life after their rescue. Baloo is still a favorite at Sanctuary today!
. They were in bad shape back then. Leo and Shere Khan had wounds and blisters on their noses, while Baloo had a harness attached to his body that caused him health problems as he grew older.
