This special type of mango is also known as finger mango or toothpick mango, chilli mango… Its biggest characteristic is that it has a very long appearance with very small and thin seeds like a toothpick.


On average, each mango weighs only about 50 grams.

Compared to regular mangoes, this special mango has a pointed tip at the end and is usually not large.

Although its appearance is different from a regular mango, when opened, this chili-like mango still has the same flavor, sweet and sour, bright yellow flesh, especially the seeds are very small or absent. seed.

 

For Chinese people, this is a very popular fruit. Besides being a dessert, these mangoes are also used in salads.

This finger mango variety is rich in nutrients, with a sugar content of up to 20%, containing 5.56% protein, 16.1% fat and 67.29% carbohydrates. This mango variety is rich in vitamins A, B and C, of ​​which the vitamin A content is the highest. In addition, it also contains small amounts of calcium, phosphorus, iron and other minerals.


According to Sina, this type of finger mango costs 30 yuan for 1 pound, equivalent to more than 200,000 VND/kg of mango.

When unripe they are blue, the color gradually changes to red-brown or yellow-brown when ripe. The meat inside also changes from sour to sweet.

Mango flesh is very thick and juicy, so it is popular with many people. In particular, it is only grown in Hainan Island, China, so although it is popular, it is very rare on the market and the fruit yield is not high.

 

A mango seed is only equivalent to a toothpick, perhaps that is why it is also called a toothpick mango.
